The building in which we are located is a 16th century palace house made with ashlar stone walls that belonged to the Ruiz del Castillo family, from whose lineage descends Pedro Ruiz del Castillo, who lived in this house, founder of the city of Mendoza and who gave the name of his land to the valley of La Rioja in Argentina where Mendoza is located, which today is one of the great wine regions of the world.
It is in 2018 that the Raúl de Miguel brothers (Engineer), Luis and Maria (Architects) buy the property. At that time, the building was in very poor condition and at serious risk of structural collapse, as it had been uninhabited for several years and was severely lacking in all respects.
From the very first moment the brothers grasped the full potential of the building, they were faced with a 16th century manor house which had originally belonged to the Ruiz del Castillo family, whose most representative figure is D. Pedro Ruiz del Castillo one of the illustrious men of La Rioja, whose statue appears in the fountain of the wet backs in Logroño along with others such as Gonzalo de Berceo, Quintiliano and King García Sánchez III of Navarre.

At the beginning, our hope and all our efforts were to recovering this little gem of our history and architecture in La Rioja to preserve it from a tragic end to which it was predestined due to the terrible state it was in.
During 2018 and the first quarter of 2019 is carried out comprehensive reform The building was completely emptied of its interior, leaving only the outer ashlar stone walls of the façade.
The project was reviewed by the technicians of the Heritage Department of the Government of La Rioja and obtained their approval, respecting all the elements worth preserving and all the constructive characteristics of the original building and assembling them with new materials in a sustainable way.
At April 2019 after obtaining the different permits from tourism and the town council of Villalba de Rioja we start our activity as a rural houseIt has a total of 8 rooms with private bathrooms, and can be rented as a whole or by rooms, with breakfast service.
During this short period, the boutique country house Palacio Condes de Cirac has been recognised by the Association of Architects of La Rioja in its special commemorative edition of its 40th anniversary as a one of the 30 best architectural projects in La Rioja between 2016 and 2019.The exhibition was held at the College's headquarters and publications were produced on the occasion of the event.
Likewise, other publications such as El Mundo, El País or Pasarela de asfalto have also published reviews in different media publicising the Palacio Condes de Cirac, such as one of the most noteworthy in La Rioja.
Además de los hermanos Raúl, Luis y María, promotores del proyecto, 3 jobs were created, ocupados por 3 mujeres, dos de las cuales residen en el pueblo de Villalba de Rioja, contribuyendo a combatir la despoblación de las zonas rurales y creando riqueza y puestos de trabajo para sus habitantes.
